Hi, this is toni, the rigger. nice to meet you!

Toni Sanchis (b. 1995) is a London-based rigger* with a deep passion for craftsmanship, arts and photography. Drawing inspiration from the Japanese technique of Shibari, he explores how the sensation of restraint and its striking aesthetics can be reimagined into wearable pieces—crafted for movement and independence—through the technique of crochet.

Unlike traditional Shibari, where the process is just as significant as the final form, Toni’s designs prioritise ease of wear. Each piece is made to slip on and off effortlessly, requiring no assistance—just your own hands and confidence.

On the photography side of this project, Toni highlights the sensory essence of Shibari, capturing not just the moment of being bound, but the lingering traces it leaves behind. His work freezes in time the temporary imprints of rope on the body—echoes of tension, release, and the beauty in between.

*Rigger: A person who applies functional or artistic rope bondage to another person's body for any specific purpose.
